[ Showcase 2 ]
Hidden in the hills above a quiet California
town will be this elaborate but tasteful home theater with lush fabric
and textures, designed to recreate the Mediterranean opulence of the 1920's.
The style of the theater incorporates graceful elements of the existing
residence. Architectural details were masterfully transformed and translated
into a more theatrical language while preserving the spirit of the house.
The barrel vault ceiling adds a very special picture palace quality to
the space. This decorative feature presented a challenge to our design
team that was overcome by utilizing an acoustically transparent frame
and fabric ceiling design. Careful acoustical analysis hides bass absorbers
and speakers behind its custom-dyed fabric surface.
Customer Goals:
To emulate a commercial theater. All equipment must be hidden: speakers
behind screen, speakers behind panels, equipment in room behind drapes.
All equipment and lighting accessed from a single customized remote control.
